    • We don’t think it’s that far of a leap to say that essentially P.A.E, builders of the Nordhavn series, created the passagemaker production boat segment when they introduced the Nordhavn 46 in the 1980s. This single engine pilothouse model made headlines by crossing oceans, and circumnavigating. In fact, one recently went around Cape Horn. We challenge you to find another powerboat brand with as many bluewater miles under its keel than Nordhavn.

Since that launch, however, the company has propelled to the next boatbuilding stratosphere offering larger models, from 40 to 86 feet, while always ensuring that the systems and engineering going into each model will ensure the yacht fulfills its all-oceans cruising role.

One of the latest Nordhavns, following on the heals of the 55 and the 72 is the 64, shown on the right shortly after initial sea trials.  “The popularity of our 47, followed by the positive response we’ve had to our new 55, confirmed our belief that our customers want even more living space and more conveniences, “ said Jim Leishman, Vice President of P.A.E. “The N64 draws on may of the elements of other Nordhavn designs.”

The high freeboard provides seakeeping advantages and adds to the N64’s tremendous interior volume. You can expect a high cruise of approximately 10.3 knots, fully loaded giving a range of 1,600 miles. At 9 knots the range nearly doubles to almost 3,000 miles. A wing-engine provides get-home capabilities. Nordhavn, www.nordhavn.com.
